Last week I didn't do much posting. I also didn't really stick to my exercise regime at all, although I didn't eat too badly.
Last week was VBS. I taught the Mommy and Me class so that I could do it with Taryn this year. It was a lot of fun, but I ended up soooo tired by the end of the afternoon, and then I still had much to do at home. Needless to say, working out after all that was not the easy choice, and it's also not the choice I made. But it gave me a glimpse of how it's going to be when I start teaching again in the fall. I'm just going to have to find a way to deal with it. I can start by being more organized and keeping up with my household chores. I can also ask C for more help around the house. As long as I keep up my end of the deal, I know he won't mind helping out. But I've got to make exercise a daily habit.
I gained half a pound this week. I know it's due in part to just being a girl this week, and also because I took exercise out of the equation. This week will be different.
I have started a competition with my friend, L. For the next eight weeks or so until school starts, we will be competing with each other in the weight loss department. We'll weigh in every Friday, and the person with the biggest percentage of weight loss at the end of the contest wins. The loser has to do something fun with the winner, winner's choice. So really, everybody wins. But I'm hoping that the competitive aspect of it will give me the motivation I need to really get after it. It's also helpful that we'll be supporting each other throughout.
That's all I've got. Breakfast today was oatmeal with blueberries and coffee. Lunch is projected to be a sandwich and spinach salad. And dinner should be pasta with lightly sautéed tomatoes, garlic, shallots, and basil with grilled chicken. Should be a great diet day!
