Day 4/5

I didn't blog yesterday, but here's how day 4 went...

Overall, I ate mostly pretty good. Well, my meals were all pretty good. The snacks didn't go so well. I gave in to feelings of hunger from boredom. I had a sparkling fruit juice, which wasn't that bad, but then I ate an apple with way too much almond butter, and a bowl of ramen noodles. Top that off with my frozen yogurt, which is a whole other story...

There's a new frozen yogurt place close by called Yogurtville. I call it new, but it's probably been there for a couple years. I had gotten some coupons, so I decided to try it out. I was pretty impressed.... there were probably around 20 different flavors of frozen yogurt, and most of them were low fat or non fat. Low fat Belgian Chocolate?? Yes, please! It's self-serve, so you get a cup and then you get however much fro-yo you want in any combination of flavors. Then you add toppings, and you pay by the ounce. This works out really well if you want a small treat. However, with a baby in one hand and my yogurt cup in the other, I couldn't get the machine to shut off before I had waaaaaayyyy too much! Taryn had too much, too. My cup cost about $4, so at $.35 an ounce, I had 12 ounces of frozen yogurt. That's almost a pound in just my cup! Hers wasn't much better. Naturally, I ate all of mine. I feel gross about it today. The nutrition facts on the yogurt aren't really that bad, but make sure you have two free hands to work the machine or you'll end up with way more than you want.

No workout for me yesterday. I was gone for much of the day, and had too much to get done when I got home. I weighed in though, and I lost 1.2 pounds this week! Really, it would be 1.2 pounds since Tuesday, since that's when I really got started. Imagine what I could do if I stick with it for an entire 7 days!

Now on to today....

There WILL be a workout today. My to-do list is manageable, and I should be able to get done everything I need to do and still find time to work out.

I started measuring my food. I was worried that I wasn't tracking it correctly. Turns out that I was actually pretty close, but knowing that I have exactly a half cup of dry oats for my oatmeal and exactly 2 tablespoons of creamer in my coffee really helps me, and it turns out that I'm not eating as many calories for breakfast as I thought. By simply measuring the food, I get to eat exactly the same, but I'm cutting almost 100 calories because I'm not overestimating! Can't argue with that :-)

I think I figured out where I went wrong yesterday. I ate breakfast at a normal time, but then I didn't have lunch until 2:00 because I was distracted by other things. I got really hungry, and I think I was just never able to recover from that. I felt hungry for the rest of the day. So, today I'll have to make sure I eat on time.

EDIT: My diet went much better today. I didn't feel as hungry all the time, and I made better choices. I only consumed about 1600 calories today, burned about 700, and had enough of a deficit leftover to have half a banana and a glass of chocolate milk after my workout! I also DID workout! Yoga, P90, and then cycling and weights at the gym. I am rocking! I don't know if I can wait an entire week to weigh in!
