Contest Week 2 Update

L and I are TIED in week 2! We're both at 2.3%, which is really pretty good for me! She had a rough week though, and since we're tied, that really revs up the competitiveness :-)

My food detox program went really well last week! I lost a total of 7.8 pounds! That's a HUGE chunk for me! This week, I've started the regular program, but I can already tell I'm going to have to be careful. All of my meals yesterday were more caloric than all of the spinach/egg/raspberry/yogurt/almond dishes that I've been eating. They all consisted of healthy components though, and they all tasted great, except for lunch, which was completely my fault. Turns out, raw shallots taste a lot like onions (which I hate) unless you cook them. I got so excited about the recipe that I totally forgot to sautee my veggies before I added them to my pasta! I have something else planned for lunch today, but I really want another chance to try the pasta, so I think I'm going to do that again. Wheat pasta with ricotta cheese, fresh spinach, tomatoes, shallots, basil and garlic sure does sound good!

I have to add my workouts back in this week. Now that I've got all of the food groups back in my diet, it's important to get back in the gym. Especially if I want to keep losing weight at a reasonable rate.
