Week 6: The week that WILL NOT suck!!

That's right! Week 6 will not suck! I feel like crap, I have a lot on my plate, and I still need to train, and make sure that I actually do ALL of the workouts. But, week 6 will not suck. In fact, it will rule! And I'm just going to keep telling myself that so that I don't end up a couch-bound bum in my flannel snowman pajamas like I did today.

COMPLAIN: If you don't really want to hear me whine, then skip this section. I feel awful! T has been sick ALL WEEK and now I'm in the early stages of sinus infection. The changing weather, sleep deprivation, and a lack of caring for myself has finally caught up with me. Now I feel bad, although I'm not as sick as I could be. But I don't like it, and I don't feel like getting up and doing anything. Last night was the first night that I actually got a decent amount of sleep. Making good nutrition choices is hard when there are two cases of Girl Scout cookies in your pantry because you are a good and supportive cousin (maybe I went overboard a little. I do plan to freeze some, though). And I am soooo unmotivated to do anything about school right now. I'm just stuck in a rut. And I hate it. There is plenty that I'm excited about, but I'm lacking the follow through right now. And training is HARD!! I love it and hate it at the same time! And I feel like I'll never make the breakthrough that I want to have happen. Ugh!

TRAINING:
Since Monday is my longest day of the week, I've decided to go ahead and keep it as an off day for now. I know this might seem counterproductive right now because I've just complained about needing to work out more and not having the proper motivation, but since I'm feeling kind of sick I think it will be a good thing, especially this week. I can always add some cardio or yoga at the end of the day if I feel like it.

Monday: Off
Tuesday: 16 min run/weights
Wednesday: 26 min swim
Thursday: Off
Friday: 16 min swim/28 min bike/weights
Saturday: 26 min run/weights
Sunday: 53 min bike/weights

I do have some incentive to try harder now. I've convinced my sister to run a 5k with me at the end of the month. I need to focus hard on nutrition right now, and make sure that I'm getting all of my runs in. They ALL are counting right now because there are only about three weeks left to prepare for the race. We will be doing "Race For Wishes" to benefit the North Texas chapter of the Make A Wish Foundation. I'm pretty stoked that she'll be running with me! I've been trying to talk her into something like that since I ran my first race back in October. She's also decided to start swimming with me on Fridays. Since she has Fridays off, and I swim on my lunch break, she has agreed to drive the 30 minutes from her place to Irving and work out with me. How awesome!! I don't know why I didn't think of this before.... I guess in my mind when she said that we needed to swim together, it didn't click in my head that she has Fridays off and might be willing to drive to Irving. Duh! Oh well.... at least we're on the right track now :-)

K bought a wetsuit to help her swim. I need to get a helmet so that I can start riding outside more now that the weather will be turning nice!
