Weeks 8 and 9

It's been too long since I've posted! Training-wise, it's been a rough couple of weeks. Two weeks ago was Charlie's birthday. I came off track for that, and then, with my dad's birthday and spring break the following week, I never really got back on. I'm talking off track with EVERYTHING. I didn't go to the gym, I didn't swim, I didn't run, I didn't bike, I didn't log my food intake. That changes now. This is the end of what should be week 8 in my training. I'm going to bite the bullet and just pick up where I'm supposed to be instead of where I left off. So I'll finish up week 8's workouts and then continue with week 9. I know I can do this. I simply need the cajones to stick to it instead of making excuses about why I won't. Seriously, what's holding me back? The answer here is myself. I am physically able to complete these workouts. I'm smart enough to know what I should and should not be eating. But I've fallen into some lazy habits that are proving to be harder to break than I thought. And that's not an excuse, simply a fact of life that I'm going to have to work hard to overcome.

I have actually been working out to the P90 dvd's in the mornings with Allison this week, and I've also started tracking my food and activities again. And yesterday I got outside and walked for a long time, so that's a baby step in the right direction. Today I'm going swimming with Katelyn. Next week, I'm back on the plan hardcore. And I will try hard to blog more often. That really helps hold me accountable, and since I didn't blog much in the last two weeks it was too easy for me to slip up.

I'm really looking forward to running the 5k with my sister. Instead of running this weekend, we decided to postpone a couple of weeks because my nephews birthday party was supposed to be this weekend. It ended up getting rescheduled as well, but since we're already registered for the later race rather than the earlier one, we're going to see it as an opportunity to improve our time.

Here's the training plan for week 9, since it's a little late to be posting week 8 :-)

Monday: Off

Tuesday: Run 17 minutes/Weights

Wednesday: Swim 29 minutes

Thursday: Off

Friday: Swim 17 minutes/Bike 35 minutes/Weights

Saturday: Run 29 minutes/Weights

Sunday: Bike 58 minutes/Weights

There's a large jump in volume in some of the areas, but I think that if I work hard, have good nutrition, and get plenty of water, I should be able to handle it. More updates to come as next week progresses :-)
