Week 4 - AGAIN

Well, I'm still stuck on week 4. School has been a huge source of stress and there was a week or two in there where the baby didn't sleep well, so I took more naps during the day and didn't make time to run. I've pretty much had a week and a half off. So on Monday, I restarted with week 4. I didn't run on Wednesday, but I did run on Friday. I figure twice a week is better than nothing. I'll repeat week 4 again next week just because I had a little trouble restarting. This week, the goal is to drink more water and watch what I'm eating more carefully. Today and yesterday went really well in terms of that. I eat sandwiches on Ezekiel bread, which is supposed to be better for you, and I put lots of veggies on them. My favorite lately has been a turkey sandwich with a little bit of mayo, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and alfalfa sprouts. I like to eat it with garlic pita chips (not as good for you, but at least they're baked and I don't eat too many) and tomato/basil hummus. I'm feeling better, at least, and less like a zombie :-) School is over once I take my unit 2 test, so next week will be a time when I can focus a little more on myself and my family. But mostly on myself. That sounds pretty selfish, but that's not what I meant. I mean, I've let some things go like my running and my nutrition because I just didn't have the time to follow through on those things with school wrapping up so quickly. This week, I can make sure I have the time to do those things. And I'm going to get a pedicure too! :-)

  1. I'm so proud of you! I love when my friends start running. One of these days we need to run together.

Okay, after reading what you ate for lunch... what if you switched from mayo to mustard (healthier), reduced fat cheese (I switched to colby jack reduced fat, can't tell a difference), and avocado occasionally? I also eat a fiber one yogurt at lunch - no fat, high in fiber - and it fills you up a little more.

I'm just trying to help you out...I know how you feel. :D

  2. Thanks! I actually don't buy avocado too often, but I probably should switch to low-fat cheese. I'll have to try the yogurt too.... I didn't know about it!

And we definitely should run together sometime soon :-)

  3. What's a hummus? One very important fact...it is NEVER selfish to focus on yourself. You are a much better addition to your family when you are healthy and happy. I PROMISE!

    (Still lovin' the toes) :0)
