It's been too long since my last update!! I won the contest. L now owes me a camping trip :-) I think we're going to wait a while for the weather to cool off before we go. The weather has been unbearable, even for summer. Most days have been around 108 degrees, and the state of Texas missed setting a record for the most consecutive days above 100 degrees by only one day. We needed 42, but we only had 41. Probably 75% of those days were in excess of 105. Ugh! And the cooler weather didn't last. We had one day of weather in the low 90's, just enough to miss the record, and then we were back up to 103. Needless to say, I haven't been outside much. Exercise is lacking. But I'm still dropping weight...
Speaking of, at the end of the six week contest, I ended up losing a total of 4.62% body weight! That's not bad for six weeks! Especially for someone who loses as slowly as I do. My six week total is 11.2 pounds. I'm so ecstatic about that! I am officially below 230, which is somewhere I haven't been in at least nine months. Now if I can just keep going...
I plan to continue with the eating plan that I'm on. It seems to be really working for me, and the food tastes great. I eat a lot of the same things, but I really like the recipes. I feel better and I have more energy (most of the time). I'm really looking forward to getting back into exercising. I still have my triathlon goal, but I don't want to just finish. I want to finish at least in the middle. And to get faster, I need to shed the weight before I can enter the race. I'll do it, but my time frame is a little longer. Perhaps I'll be ready for a sprint race by next fall. I think that that's a reasonable goal. I will have a year to lose the weight that I need to (if I continue to lose two pounds a week, then I'll be at goal by then), I will have completed my masters degree that spring so school won't be a worry, and it won't be 110 degrees outside. I think this is doable.
There will be more to come. It will be a busy month, but look for at least one more new post before September :-)
