In the beginning....

Holy Cow! I've just completed my very first Couch To 5k workout. I didn't die. It wasn't easy, but I didn't die. And I completed the whole thing, except for one 60-second interval where I walked instead of jogged. But hopefully I'll get all the running on Wednesday when I go again.

I'm having a protein shake for breakfast. I'm off to a great start! The scale today says I'm down a pound from last week. I don't know how that's possible since I didn't eat so well last week. I knew I was starting this today so last week was kind of my time to get all my junk food in. So I celebrated Allison's good grades with Dairy Queen, her last day of school with Cici's, had pizza on Saturday, and Mexican food last night. Plus, two yummy coffee drinks during the week. How can I be down a pound??

So, since Monday is the beginning of the week, I'm going to use it as my check-in day. Not much to report, since I've just started, but the scale reading today is 234.8. Even though I've slacked on this thing from the beginning, I do feel better knowing that I never made it all the way back up to my heaviest point. If I can remain focused on why I'm doing this and utilize my support system, I think I can do it. I KNOW I can do it!

  1. YAY!! Great job Jeana! And I want to tell you something....my first couch to 5K workout...I did all but 60 seconds too! You are on the PERFECT path!! I'm so proud of you. The first workout is the hardest...remember that. Can't wait to workout together on Wednesday!

  2. I'm excited about Wednesday! And I did my yoga tonight so my muscles should be all limber and stuff for the next running session :-)
